The Board Leaders Fellowship is a comprehensive training program for alumni of our schools and programs and our community to gain nonprofit board experience, while building leadership skills and professional networks.

Regularly attend BwC board meetings, and serve as a “board member in training.”
Program Details
Throughout the year-long fellowship, fellows attend professional development sessions to gain the skills of a board member and have the opportunity to see the skills in practice at our school board and foundation board meetings.
Attend 1 session per month:

Meet Our 2026 Cohort
Sophie Dornevil
Sophie Dornevil is an investment and strategy professional with experience spanning financial modeling, impact due diligence, public finance, and workforce development. Her work focuses on evaluating opportunities that advance economic development, sustainability, and long-term community outcomes. She holds a BS from Cornell University and an MPA & MPH from New York University. Sophie is particularly interested in how philanthropy, nonprofit governance, and impact investing can address complex social challenges. As a BwC Board Fellow, she looks forward to deepening her understanding of nonprofit governance and board leadership as part of her long-term commitment to community impact.
Ingrid Montalvo
Ingrid Montalvo is an Account Director at Weber Shandwick who has led some of OREO’s biggest partnerships, including OREO & BTS, OREO x Selena Gomez, OREO x Marvel and more. Outside of cookies, Ingrid has worked on brands like ZYRTEC, SKITTLES, Nespresso, Stella Artois and more. Beyond client work, Ingrid has been instrumental in creating meaningful projects across the Weber network. She founded the Latino BRG’s El Chisme newsletter and leads Weber Shandwick NY’s OneWeber DEI committee. A Bronx-born, Brooklyn-based fangirl, Ingrid’s always ready to hop on a plane for a concert—especially if Harry Styles is involved.
Othniel Roberts
Othniel Roberts is a Senior Auditor within the Chief Operating Office & Transformation group at Citibank. A Brooklyn native, he graduated from Brooklyn College in 2022 with a bachelor’s degree in Finance.
Othniel attended Community Partnership Charter School (CPCS) from fourth through eighth grade, graduating with the Class of 2013. Through the Alumni Legacy Network, he participated in mentoring, SAT preparation, and the BwC College Summer Internship Program. As a Board Leaders Fellow, he looks forward to strengthening his nonprofit governance and leadership skills while giving back to the community that helped shape his journey.
Gabrielle Torres
A proud Brooklyn native and alumna of BwC, Gabrielle Torres comes from a long line of BwC graduates and carries forward a deep connection to the school’s mission and values. She currently works in admissions at The Masters School, where she builds meaningful relationships with students, families, and communities. Beyond admissions, she serves as an athletic coach, advisor, and dorm parent. Her professional journey spans education, marketing and business development, and public affairs, providing her with a unique perspective on relationship-building and organizational strategy. She holds a Masters in Applied Intelligence from Georgetown University, along with a graduate certificate in Competitive Business Intelligence.
Board Impact
Equipped with critical board skills, our Board Leadership Fellows are empowered to create change for our community through board leadership. Many of our fellows go on to serve in an official capacity on a board.
